Recently I have been working on ways to identify material properties of phases in my concrete samples. As of yesterday we started with our first Nano indentation test. The main aim of this study will be to identify dissolved properties of aggregate and paste in the matrix with known exposure to Accelerated test conditions. Here is a short photo series of how we prepared samples for nano-indenter.

| Smaller Specimens are prepared to fit the sample holder for Nano Indentation |

| Specimens are placed on working glass and polished down to have smooth and flat surface |

| Small Sections are documented under stereo microscope before final selection is made using smaller grids |

| And finally placed in Nano indenter G200 |
Work package 2 (Nautesund Bridge Original mix) tests (38°C) will be finalized within two weeks (by 20th December 2013). Just after Christmas, I am planning to run same set of experiments on those samples too. I will be sharing the early results from these test, pretty soon.
